The All Progressives Congress has named Dr Titilope Gbadamosi, a Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on youth initiatives, as spokesperson for the South-West youth mobilisation arm of its 2027 presidential campaign.
The directorate will run the party's youth mobilisation across Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states as the party builds towards the 2027 general election.
Gbadamosi's role at the Presidency covers monitoring and delivery of youth programmes. In her new position, she becomes the official voice of the zonal directorate, explaining its activities and positions to the public.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by the directorate's zonal secretary, Barr. Adesuyi Daramola, and reported by newsmen on Friday.
Two other appointments
Moremi Ojudu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on community engagement for the South-West, was named chair of the zonal community engagement platform. Dr Seriki Muritala will chair a committee of young APC candidates.
According to the statement, the appointments followed resolutions adopted at the directorate's first meeting, held on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos.
Gbadamosi's position was assigned to Oyo State, which the directorate said reflects its aim of spreading roles across the zone.
Daramola congratulated the appointees and said he was confident they would strengthen the directorate's work and help it meet its mandate in the region.
Why it matters
Young Nigerians make up a large share of registered voters, and parties are competing for their attention well before the 2027 polls. Putting a serving presidential aide in charge of the zone's youth messaging signals how seriously the ruling party is treating that vote in its South-West stronghold.
For ordinary Nigerians, the appointments themselves change little day to day. What matters is whether youth programmes promised by government reach young people, and whether the campaign's promises on jobs, prices and education are kept.
The directorate has not said when its mobilisation activities will begin or what they will involve.
