Two Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidates in Oyo State marked the 37th anniversary of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke Agbara, on Sunday with a donation of millions of naira to the church, made in the party's name.

The celebration held at the church's Oluwatedo District Headquarters in Ashi, Bodija, Ibadan, and drew worshippers, senior clerics and politicians. The two men are Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, the APM's candidate for Oyo Central in the Senate, and Bimbo Adekanmbi, the party's governorship candidate in the state.

Ajadi told the congregation he had worshipped at Oke Agbara for years and took part in its evangelism in his younger days. He described the church as a key part of his spiritual life.

He also spoke about the late Prophet Michael Ojo Olowere, the church's former General Overseer, known to many as Baba Olowere or Baba Automatic Answer, and the evangelistic work he was known for.

Prayers for 2027

The anniversary sermon, titled "The Bible—God's Message to His People", was preached by Pastor Fajuyagbe and drew on 2 Timothy 3:14–17, a passage on Scripture as a guide for teaching and righteous living.

Pastor J. O. Farayola, the District Superintendent of the Oke Agbara headquarters, and Pastor Samuel Olowere prayed for victory for Ajadi, Adekanmbi and other APM candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Among those at the service were Prophet Hezekiah O. Oladeji, CAC General Evangelist; Pastor Emmanuel Odejobi, General Superintendent; and Pastor S. O. Oladele, President of CAC Nigeria and Overseas.

Two local government chairmen also attended: Hon. Sikiru Oyedele Sanda of Egbeda and Dr. Kolapo Temitope Glorious of Ona-Ara, along with other party members and supporters.

The service combined thanksgiving, Bible teaching and prayers, with worshippers remembering Baba Olowere's legacy and the church's continuing mission.

What happens next

The 2027 general elections are the next test for the APM in Oyo State, where Adekanmbi is seeking the governorship and Ajadi is contesting the Oyo Central Senate seat. Church pulpits are a familiar stop for politicians in the state, and the prayers offered on Sunday show how early the 2027 campaigns are already taking shape.
