The gist
  • AVA Capital Plc made ₦2.63bn profit before tax in the nine months to September 2026.
  • Client investment funds rose to ₦77.79bn from ₦9.24bn at the end of 2025.
  • The results are the group's first nine-month report since its shares listed on the NGX.

AVA Capital Plc earned ₦2.63 billion in profit before tax between January and September 2026, the financial services group said in unaudited results released this week.

The figure came on revenue of ₦5.87 billion, with profit after tax at ₦1.84 billion. That works out to a pre-tax margin of 44.8%, meaning the group kept close to 45 kobo of every naira it earned before tax.

Total assets stood at ₦94.43 billion at the end of September, up from ₦19.14 billion at the close of 2025, according to the filings reported by Nairametrics and ThisDay.

The number likely to interest ordinary savers and investors most is client money under management. Client investment funds rose to ₦77.79 billion from ₦9.24 billion at the end of last year — a jump of roughly 742% in nine months.

The company said the growth came from its asset management business, which sits alongside its securities trading and trusteeship arms.

Where the money came from

Interest income brought in the bulk of revenue at ₦4.05 billion. Fees and commissions added ₦1.26 billion, while other income contributed ₦558.93 million.

At the company level alone, revenue climbed to ₦1.99 billion from ₦511.70 million in the same period of 2025. Pre-tax profit there rose to ₦1.35 billion from ₦232.81 million, and profit after tax to ₦942.35 million from ₦162.96 million.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kayode Fadahunsi said the third quarter alone added ₦1.17 billion to pre-tax profit, and that costs were held at 39.9% of income.

We are not building AVA simply to be the biggest in the room; we are building it to be the most trusted,

he said in a statement.

This is the first nine-month reporting period in which AVA Capital presents results as one combined group. The group now covers AVA Capital Plc, AVA Global Asset Managers Limited, AVA Trustees Limited and AVA Securities Limited.

The results follow the company's listing of its ordinary shares on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) by introduction in August. A listing by introduction means no fresh shares were sold to the public at the time; the company simply brought existing shares onto the exchange.

What happens next

The figures are unaudited, so they may still change when the company releases its full-year numbers. Investors will also be watching whether client funds keep climbing at the same pace now that the group reports as a single entity.
