- The song came out on Friday, October 30, and pairs a newer voice with an established one.
- Chacx, whose real name is Manu Charles Chukwuye, signed with Homeboy International Music this year.
Nigerian singer Chacx has put out a new song, Forgive, on which he shares the mic with veteran musician African China. The single was released on Friday, October 30.
The pairing brings together a younger artiste and a singer long associated with street-rooted music that speaks to everyday Nigerian life. African China's catalogue has often touched on social realities, and that background shapes the feel of the new record.
Chacx, whose real name is Manu Charles Chukwuye, said he valued the chance to work with someone whose music has connected with listeners for years.
"Working with African China is an exciting experience for me," he said.
He added that teaming up with an artiste from another generation pushed him to see the song from fresh angles and to grow as a musician.
Who is Chacx?
Chacx was born in Edo State and grew up in Edo and Lagos. He started releasing music professionally in 2019 with Obi Mo, a track that featured Cme2k.
His first extended play, New Beginning, arrived in 2021 as a five-track project. He followed with Blessed, which featured Portable, and Shocker Lo Se Beat.
A second EP, Advanced, came in 2023 with six tracks. Since then he has put out Hold Me in 2024, then Baby Girl and Feelings in 2025, and Fake Friends in 2026.
Earlier this year he signed with Homeboy International Music, a move that marked a new stage in his career.
Forgive now sits in the catalogues of both artistes, adding a joint release to Chacx's growing list of songs and to African China's long run in the industry.
