Chris Brown gets suspended jail term over 2023 London nightclub attack

American singer Chris Brown no go go prison after one UK court give am eight-month jail sentence wey dem suspend for one year on Monday. Di sentence mean say dem go only put am for prison if e commit another offence within di next 12 months.
Brown, 37, bin plead guilty in July to affray, one public order offence, over one fight for Tape, one private members' club for central London, on 19 February 2023. Dem sentence am for Southwark Crown Court.
Judge Tony Baumgartner talk say Brown play a "leading role" for di attack on music producer Abe Diaw. Di judge talk say Brown hit Diaw two times for head with tequila bottle, hit am for shoulder and try to strike again. CCTV footage show say di incident last no more than 20 seconds.
"Di repeated use of a glass bottle in that way… was plainly dangerous," di judge talk, add say e fit cause much more serious injury.
Diaw need hospital treatment for head trauma, tenderness around him neck and abdomen, and reduced movement for him left knee.
Brown's co-defendant, 40-year-old Omololu Akinlolu, wey reports describe as him vocal coach, also plead guilty to affray. Dem give am four-month prison sentence wey dem suspend for one year. Di judge talk say Akinlolu no start di violence but join in by punching and kicking Diaw while e dey ground.
More serious charges against both men, including assault and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, dem drop am after their guilty pleas.
Di judge talk say Brown's fame and commercial success no entitle am to special treatment. He note say Brown get two previous convictions wey involve violence, from 2009 and 2013, but talk say dem old now. He also consider Brown's compliance with bail conditions, him role as father of four, him steady work and charity activities.
Brown's lawyer, Sallie Bennett-Jenkins KC, call di incident "ugly and unattractive" but talk say e very short-lived. She talk say Brown offer a "profound apology" to everybody wey dey present.
