The Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) will hold its 26th National Women Conference from October 26 to 28, 2026, at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is expected to lead dignitaries to the event, alongside his counterparts in Delta and Ekiti, Sheriff Oborevwori and Biodun Oyebanji. It will be the eighth and final edition of the conference under the current Lagos administration.
The theme is “Anchored for Purpose: Be the Blueprint.”
Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, wife of the Lagos governor and chairman of COWLSO, said the gathering will focus on purposeful leadership and on the footprints women leave in their families, workplaces and communities.
She said the theme asks women to look beyond personal achievements and to make contributions that outlast their own generation.
What it costs to attend
The conference will run in a hybrid format. Physical attendance costs ₦150,000 and is capped at 3,000 people. Virtual attendance costs ₦50,000 and has no limit on numbers.
Registration opened on September 15 and was scheduled to close on October 15. Late registration for physical seats opens on October 24 and carries an extra ₦15,000.
Because space is limited, only five people are expected from each ministry, department and agency (MDA). The virtual platform stays open to anyone.
Dr Sanwo-Olu said the conference has grown over the years into a space for learning, empowerment, networking and honest conversation about issues affecting women, families and communities.
Participants are expected from government, business, academia, the diplomatic community, civil society, traditional institutions and women's groups, as well as young women.
What happens next
The first day features the opening ceremony and keynote lectures. The second day continues with lectures and presentations, and ends with the traditional COWLSO Gala Night. The final day is for the closing ceremony and a look back at the lessons and commitments from the three days.
Organisers also plan a walk through key locations on Lagos Island, which they say ties the theme to the history, culture and development of the city.
Dr Sanwo-Olu urged women to come ready to move from intention to impact, and to leave every space better than they found it.
