Eterna Plc, the fuel, lubricant and gas company, has reported a sharp rise in revenue and profit for the first nine months of 2026, according to its unaudited results for the period ended September 30.

Revenue rose 71.7 per cent to ₦365.56 billion, up from ₦212.84 billion in the same period last year. Gross profit more than doubled to ₦23.33 billion from ₦9.94 billion, while operating profit climbed to ₦11.19 billion from ₦3.19 billion.

Profit before tax stood at ₦10.28 billion, compared with ₦1.40 billion a year earlier. Profit after tax jumped to ₦7.34 billion from ₦325.88 million, and basic earnings per share rose from 25 kobo to ₦3.36.

The company's total assets grew to ₦114.19 billion as at September 30, 2026, from ₦92.19 billion at the end of December 2025. Total equity rose to ₦32.99 billion from ₦7.77 billion over the same period.

What the MD said

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Jude Nwaulune said the company is focused on operational performance, financial discipline and sustainable value.

"Our Q3 YTD results reflect the progress we are making in building a stronger and more resilient Eterna," he said.

He said Eterna remains committed to driving efficiency across its operations, pursuing growth opportunities and creating long-term value for shareholders and stakeholders. The company said its priorities span fuels, lubricants and gas, backed by efforts to strengthen distribution and improve customer experience.

Why it matters

Eterna is one of the marketers that supply petrol, diesel and lubricants to Nigerian businesses and motorists. A stronger balance sheet and higher equity give the company more room to fund operations and weather fuel price swings, which affect pump prices and transport costs.

The results cover the nine months to September 30, 2026, and are unaudited. The company did not give a dividend figure in the reports seen.

What happens next: Eterna is expected to release its full-year results after the December 2026 financial year ends. The nine-month figures are unaudited and may be adjusted in the final accounts.
