Paris Saint-Germain beat Barcelona 4-2 in their Champions League match in Paris on Tuesday, and former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry picked out four PSG players for special praise afterwards.

PSG's goals came from Désiré Doué, Lucas Hernández, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz. Barcelona, coached by Hansi Flick, replied through Xavi Espart and Lamine Yamal but could not stop the French champions from taking all three points.

Speaking on CBS Sports Golazo after the game, Henry said the PSG midfield took control of the match. He named Fabian Ruiz, Joao Neves and Vitinha as the players who ran the game, and added Achraf Hakimi to the list.

"That midfield was just outstanding," Henry said.

He also said PSG kept playing their game even after losing players on the wing, and that Hakimi was outstanding.

Why it matters for Nigerian fans

Champions League nights are followed closely across Nigeria, and PSG's win over Barcelona is one of the bigger results of this round. For supporters who watch the late kick-offs, the match offered goals, a comeback attempt from Barcelona and a midfield display that drew praise from one of the game's best-known analysts.

Henry, an Arsenal great, is a familiar voice to Nigerian Premier League fans, many of whom grew up watching him. His verdict on the PSG midfield will carry weight with viewers who saw the game.

What happens next

The result gives PSG three points in the competition, while Barcelona will look to respond in their next European fixture. Both clubs now turn back to their domestic leagues before the Champions League returns.
