Keyamo launches TV aviation campaign series for Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid
- Aviation minister Festus Keyamo has produced a 30-second TV series on the sector's record under President Tinubu.
- His office says the Tinubu Aviation Revolution Series starts airing on November 1, 2026, and runs until near the election.
- Keyamo is also coordinating air transport for the APC presidential campaign council.
Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo has rolled out a television campaign series promoting the aviation record of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The series, titled 'Tinubu Aviation Revolution Series', is a 30-second production that his office says will begin airing on major television stations on November 1, 2026, and continue until a few days before the presidential election.
The minister's Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood, announced the plan in a statement. He said the campaign material has been fully paid for.
According to the statement, the series is one of Keyamo's first campaign moves since he was named Director of the Directorate of Air Transport Mobilisation under the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC). That directorate is to coordinate and arrange air transport for approved campaign activities in support of Tinubu's re-election bid.
What the series will show
Moshood said the short broadcasts are meant to give voters a simple account of what the administration says it has changed in aviation, and to link the sector to jobs, trade, tourism and international travel.
The statement said aviation is a key driver of economic growth and investment, and that the series is intended to draw attention to the sector's place in the government's Renewed Hope Agenda.
It described the launch as the start of a focused campaign as the APC prepares for the 2027 general elections.
Neither statement gave details of the specific aviation projects or figures the series will highlight, and no cost for the broadcasts was disclosed.
Why it matters
For ordinary Nigerians, aviation is mostly felt through ticket prices, airport conditions and flight delays. How the government's record is presented on television will be part of the argument voters weigh before 2027.
Keyamo's dual role also puts him at the centre of both aviation policy and campaign logistics, a combination the opposition is likely to scrutinise.
What happens next: the adverts are due to start on November 1 across major stations, and the minister's team says they will run until close to election day.
