  • LASPEC says retired heads of service, permanent secretaries, TESCOM and CSPO pensioners must verify online.
  • The exercise runs from Monday, October 26 to Wednesday, November 25, 2026.
  • Pensioners must log in with their Oracle number and surname, then submit BVN or NIN and next-of-kin details.

Pensioners in Lagos under the Defined Benefit Scheme will from Monday, October 26, begin a fresh verification exercise that the Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) says will run until Wednesday, November 25, 2026.

The commission said the exercise is strictly online and asked retirees not to come to its office to complete it.

The verification covers retired heads of service and permanent secretaries, as well as pensioners under the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and the Civil Service Pension Office (CSPO). LASPEC said the aim is to update records and confirm who is eligible under the Defined Benefit Scheme, also called the Pay-As-You-Go system.

How to take part

Each group has its own portal. Retired heads of service and permanent secretaries should use verify.laspec.gov.ng, TESCOM pensioners should use verify.tescomlagos.ng, and CSPO pensioners should use verify.cspo.ng.

According to the commission, pensioners start with a two-step login using their Oracle number and surname. They then choose the self-service option and follow the instructions on the screen.

They will also need to switch on their device camera to take a photograph for identity checks, provide either their Bank Verification Number (BVN) or National Identification Number (NIN), update their personal details and fill in their next-of-kin information before submitting.

LASPEC advised pensioners to make sure everything they enter is correct before the November 25 deadline.

The Director-General of LASPEC, Mr Babalola Obilana, urged affected pensioners to use the portals and finish the process within the period given.

Help for pensioners

Pensioners who need help can call Mrs Morenike Makinde on 09053962112 for matters involving retired heads of service, permanent secretaries and TESCOM. Those under the Civil Service Pension Office can call Mrs Alabi Adedamola on 08023064050. The commission said further enquiries can also be sent by email to [email protected].

For many retirees, monthly pensions are a main source of income, so keeping their records current matters. The commission said the online arrangement is meant to let eligible retirees complete the exercise without travelling to its office.
