Ogun APC women told to bring 10 voters each for Tinubu, Adeola in 2027
- Wives of the Ogun APC governorship candidate and the state governor led a women's forum in Abeokuta.
- Each woman was asked to mobilise at least 10 voters for the party ahead of 2027.
- One report says a two-million-vote target was set for the state; another frames it as 10 votes per woman.
Women in Ogun State's All Progressives Congress (APC) have been asked to bring in at least 10 voters each for President Bola Tinubu, the party's governorship candidate in the state, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The call came at the Ogun State Political Women Stakeholders Forum held in Abeokuta, according to reports on Wednesday. The forum was themed "Stronger Together: Women Unite for Victory, One Woman, Ten Votes".
Mrs. Temitope Adeola, wife of the governorship candidate, said women make up about half of Ogun's 3,037,981 registered voters, citing figures from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as of October 2026. She urged them to turn that number into actual ballots through family, business and community networks.
"Every woman has the capacity to influence her community and contribute to the direction of our society," she said, asking each woman present to engage at least 10 eligible voters and encourage them to vote.
Two-million target, or 10 votes each?
The outlets differ on the size of the goal. PM News reported that Mrs. Adeola set a target of two million votes for the party in the state. Tribune reported the charge as a minimum of 10 votes per woman, without mentioning a two-million figure. Both accounts agree on the 10-voter ask.
Ogun State First Lady Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun backed the push, saying women's strength lies in their ability to organise and influence communities. "Women must move beyond being passive supporters to becoming active drivers of political success," she said.
She also warned against internal division, urging members to build bridges across religious, social and ethnic lines, and pointed to Senator Adeola's record as reason to work for his victory.
Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele praised the Dapo Abiodun administration's efforts on women's inclusion and said she was confident Adeola would give women's participation greater attention if elected governor.
The forum drew women leaders from the state's 20 local government areas and three senatorial districts. Among them were the APC deputy governorship candidate, Alhaja Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun; former deputy governors Alhaja Salmot Badru and Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga; former Senator Iyabo Anisulowo; former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly Hon. Titi Oseni; and the APC State Women Leader, Alhaja Aminat Adigun.
For ordinary Ogun residents, the meeting signals the start of early grassroots work for 2027, with the party leaning on women's networks to reach voters door to door.
What happens next
INEC has not fixed the 2027 election timetable in these reports. The women's forum is a party mobilisation event, not an official campaign launch, and no date has been given for the next round of outreach.
