Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has invited stakeholders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to a joint meeting on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

The meeting will hold at the International Convention Centre in Awka, according to a circular dated October 22, 2026. It was signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr Ben Nwankwo, who is also coordinator of the secretariat of the Presidential Campaign Council in Anambra State.

Soludo is the state coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Committee. The notice said the gathering comes as parties and their supporters prepare for the 2027 general elections.

Who is invited

Accreditation begins at 10am, and the meeting starts at 1pm prompt. The circular warned that the doors will be closed once proceedings begin, and only accredited invitees will be allowed in.

The invitation list is long. It covers current and former political officeholders and party officials who are still members of APGA or APC, and all candidates of both parties for the 2027 elections.

Also invited are current and former governors and deputy governors of Anambra who remain in either party, and past and present national, zonal and state working committee members from the state.

  • Current and former appointees in the state and federal governments
  • Members of the PBAT/APC Presidential Campaign Council from Anambra
  • Coordinators of Tinubu support groups in the state
  • Serving and former local government chairmen, mayors and transition committee chairmen
  • Local government secretaries, women leaders and youth leaders of both parties
  • Elected councillors and ward chairmen of APGA and APC
  • Members of the state working committees of the Accord Party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

Selected stakeholders nominated by the state chairmen of APGA and APC, and others nominated by the state coordinator of the campaign council, are also expected.

The notice said the wide list was drawn up so that no eligible stakeholder could claim not to have been invited. Anyone in the listed categories is deemed invited.

What happens next

For now, the meeting is a notice, not a decision. What comes out of the Awka gathering — alliances, campaign structures or candidate arrangements — will only be known after November 1.

For ordinary Anambra residents, the practical effect is political: how the state's two main party blocs line up ahead of 2027, and who speaks for them.
