  • Nigerian youngsters Mubarak Suleiman and Emmanuel Ayaosi starred in Slavia Prague's 5-0 win at Jablonec. Suleiman scored twice and set up another goal, while Ayaosi scored once and registered an assist.
  • Another Nigerian, David Moses, also featured as Slavia rounded off the Czech league victory.

Two Nigerian youngsters, Mubarak Suleiman and Emmanuel Ayaosi, were in fine form as Slavia Prague won 5-0 away at Jablonec in the Czech First League on Saturday.

Suleiman opened the scoring four minutes before half-time. Ayaosi doubled the lead in the 57th minute, and Ange Caumenan N'Guessan made it three in the 66th minute.

Ayaosi then turned provider, setting up Suleiman for his second goal in the 75th minute. Five minutes later Suleiman returned the favour, assisting Danije Sturm for the fifth.

Ayaosi was replaced by Sturm in the 76th minute, and Suleiman made way for Pavel Kacor in the 83rd. A third Nigerian youngster, David Moses, also featured for Slavia.

Why it matters for Nigerian fans

Nigerian players abroad are closely followed at home, and strong performances in Europe keep young names in the conversation around the Super Eagles. For Suleiman and Ayaosi, a goal and an assist each in the same league match is the kind of display that draws more attention.

Slavia's win was built on a dominant attacking display. The visitors scored three goals in the second half and Jablonec could not find a reply.

What happens next

Slavia return to league action in their next Czech First League fixture, with both Nigerians hoping to keep their places. Their progress will be watched closely by Nigerian fans.
