  • Toluwanisings died on 14 October, hours after ministering at a praise concert in Ibadan.

The family of gospel singer Olayemi Bayonle Bolaji, known to fans as Toluwanisings, has fixed Tuesday, 27 October 2026 for a night of tributes and service of songs in his memory. The programme will hold at 3pm at the Hall of Grace, Jogor Centre, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The family shared the announcement on the singer's social media page, asking friends, fellow artistes, fans and well-wishers to come together to honour his life and ministry.

In a separate appeal, the family asked Nigerians to give towards the care of the singer's wife and children. The message, titled "A Call for Love and Support", said every gift, however small, would count as kindness to a woman grieving her husband. The family also released account details for donations.

Toluwanisings died on 14 October 2026, a few hours after he ministered at a praise concert organised by fellow gospel singer Bidemi Olaoba in Ibadan. The death has drawn wide reaction online, with many fans and celebrities mourning him and questioning how quickly emergency care can be reached in Nigerian cities.

Questions over emergency care

His personal assistant said the singer collapsed at his home and was turned away by eight hospitals in Ibadan before he died. The family has not confirmed that account, and no official medical report has been made public. The claim has not been independently verified by our reporters.

The case has renewed public debate about emergency treatment, especially the readiness of hospitals to take in patients in the first critical minutes. For many Nigerians, the story has become a painful reminder of how quickly a health emergency can turn into a loss.

The tribute night will give family, friends, colleagues and fans a chance to celebrate the singer's music and the ministry that made him known.

What happens next

The service of songs holds on 27 October at the Jogor Centre in Ibadan. The family has not announced burial arrangements. Those who wish to help the widow and children can use the account details shared on the singer's social media page.
