  • Tompolo's PBAT Door-to-Door Movement handed 26 vehicles each to Ondo and Gombe for Tinubu's 2027 campaign.
  • Governors Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Inuwa Yahaya thanked the movement and backed the President's re-election.
  • Coordinators were told to turn Ondo's two million registered supporters into votes for the APC.

A support group for President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election has handed out 52 vehicles to drive grassroots campaigning in Ondo and Gombe states, with each state getting 26.

The vehicles came from Chief Government Ekpemupolo, widely known as Tompolo, who is grand patron of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement. They were presented at separate events in Akure and Gombe as the movement inaugurated its coordinators.

Tompolo was represented by Chief Kestin Pondi, managing director of Tantita Security Services. Pondi asked the coordinators to take the campaign door to door, including to remote and riverine communities, and to turn the movement's reported two million registered supporters in Ondo into votes.

He listed fuel availability, the absence of university strikes and the payment of salaries and pensions as points the teams should take to voters.

What the governors said

Ondo Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa thanked the movement for the vehicles, saying they would help coordinators reach every part of the state. "Ondo State is for Asiwaju. That's where we stand," he said, adding that support groups not backing all APC candidates would not be welcome.

In Gombe, Governor Inuwa Yahaya also thanked Tompolo and the movement. He pointed to a state agricultural programme for farmers, herders, processors and young people, which he said is backed by a ₦130 billion grant approved by the Tinubu administration.

Both governors described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as united and expressed confidence about the party's chances in 2027.

The movement's national coordinator, Sunday Asuku, urged voters to question opposition parties about their records. He cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), regional development commissions and financial autonomy for local governments as reasons to back the President.

Ondo APC chairman Kolawole Babatunde commended the governor's support and predicted the state would deliver at least one million votes for Tinubu.
