- Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is out after surgery on a fractured jaw suffered against Everton.
- Spurs are without the suspended Rodrigo Bentancur and several injured players, but Pedro Porro returns.
Chelsea and Tottenham meet at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening with at least 11 players set to miss the London derby through injury, illness or suspension, according to reports from both camps.
Both sides come into the game on the back of wins. Chelsea beat Everton 2-0, while Spurs claimed their first Premier League victory of the season, 3-1 against Coventry City.
Chelsea's goalkeeping blow
The biggest name missing is Chelsea's new first-choice goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez. The Argentine had surgery this week on a fractured jaw after a head collision with Jarred Branthwaite during the Everton match.
Martinez posted an update from his hospital bed, saying he expects to be back in a few weeks. Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso said the goalkeeper is recovering well but the club must wait.
"He's doing better. He had the surgery. Day by day, he's feeling better, but we still need to wait," Alonso said.
Club captain Reece James is also out after an operation on his knee, with reports suggesting he could be sidelined for around three months. Winger Jamie Gittens continues to recover from an ankle injury picked up with England Under-21s.
Alonso confirmed Pep Chavarria will not return in time, while Emmanuel Emegha is a doubt after a minor setback in training. There is better news for Malo Gusto, who is available again after illness.
Spurs missing men
Tottenham are without Mykhailo Mudryk, Lucas Bergvall and Savio, who are all expected to miss out with knocks. Long-term casualties Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert are still recovering from anterior cruciate ligament injuries.
Rodrigo Bentancur remains suspended after his red card against Manchester United, and Destiny Udogie is unavailable after sitting out the Coventry win as a precaution.
Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi does have one boost: full-back Pedro Porro is available again after a hamstring problem kept him out of the previous two league games.
For Nigerian fans, the match is another chance to watch Premier League football on a Saturday evening, with both squads stretched thin ahead of a busy run of fixtures.
