El Clásico, City's perfect start and Liverpool-Brighton lead weekend football
- Barcelona host Real Madrid in El Clásico on Sunday night, live on SuperSport La Liga.
- Manchester City visit Aston Villa on Saturday, bidding to keep their perfect league start going.
- Liverpool host third-placed Brighton on Sunday, while Manchester United welcome Bournemouth.
Nigerian football fans have a full weekend of European action to look forward to, with Barcelona against Real Madrid the biggest fixture on the card.
The El Clásico kicks off at 9pm on Sunday and will be shown on SuperSport La Liga, available on DStv channel 204 and GOtv channel 62.
Barcelona go into the match after their 11-match winning run across all competitions was ended by a 4–2 Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain. Before that defeat, they had won nine La Liga games in a row, including a 5–2 win over Real Betis.
Real Madrid come in on a high after beating Sevilla 4–1.
Premier League business starts Saturday
In England, Manchester City travel to Aston Villa for a 12:30pm kick-off on Saturday. City are bidding to maintain their perfect league start and arrive fresh from a 5–1 Champions League win over AEK, following their 3–2 league victory over Ipswich Town.
Later on Saturday, Arsenal welcome Everton at 3pm, and Chelsea take on Spurs at 5:30pm. Spurs will be hoping to build on their first league win of the season, a 3–1 result against Coventry that moved them out of the relegation zone. These matches are on SS Premier League, DStv channel 203 and GOtv channel 65.
Sunday's main Premier League attraction is at Anfield, where fifth-placed Liverpool host Brighton at 3pm. Brighton sit third and have won four league games in a row. They are also the only team to have beaten champions Arsenal this season, so Liverpool will need a strong performance to keep pace with the sides above them.
At the same time, Manchester United host Bournemouth, still looking for a league win after drawing with Leeds last weekend and losing 4–1 to Como in the Champions League. That game is on SS Football, DStv channel 205 and GOtv channel 61.
What happens next
Fans can plan their viewing around the weekend fixtures. The El Clásico result on Sunday night will shape the early La Liga table, while the Premier League games could tighten the race at the top.
