  • Funke Akindele has announced a partnership with Facebook to promote her new film, The Four: No One Fights Alone.
  • The film, produced under her FAAN banner and distributed by FilmOne, opens in cinemas nationwide on December 11, 2026.
  • Facebook will host creator content at the London and Lagos premieres and share behind-the-scenes updates.

Funke Akindele has teamed up with Facebook to give her upcoming film, The Four: No One Fights Alone, a bigger push at home and abroad. The filmmaker and actress announced the partnership on her social media pages on Thursday, 29 October 2026.

Under the deal, fans will get exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, premiere looks and first-hand updates through her official Facebook pages in the weeks before the film opens.

"We're taking THE FOUR to the world, and @Facebook is coming with us!" Akindele wrote in her announcement post. She thanked fans, saying the love they have shown her stories over the years had brought her this far.

Meta's Head of Communications for Sub-Saharan Africa, Oluwasola Obagbemi, said the partnership shows how Facebook helps creators connect with fans and build communities. Creators on the platform, he said, can reach global audiences and earn money from original content.

The collaboration will also spotlight Nigerian creators at home and in the diaspora. A creator-hosted space at the London and Lagos premieres will capture content on how creators use Facebook to reach younger audiences and share Nigerian culture beyond the country's borders.

What the film is about

The Four is produced under Funke Akindele Network (FAAN) and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment. It explores friendship, motherhood and resilience.

The cast includes Akindele herself, Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji and Ali Nuhu. Singers Waje and Shoday also feature.

The film is set for a nationwide cinema release on 11 December 2026, and pre-sale tickets are already on sale. Colleagues and fans, including media personality Broda Shaggi and actresses Destiny Etiko and Mo Bimpe, congratulated her in the comments.

What happens next

Fans can follow the Meta Africa and Akindele's official Facebook pages for premiere content ahead of the December release. For cinema owners and cinema-goers, the December date puts the film in the busy end-of-year season, when many Nigerian families look for something to watch together.
