Osimhen trains fully and is in line to face Stuttgart in Champions League
- Victor Osimhen took part in Galatasaray's final training session before Tuesday's Champions League game with Stuttgart.
- He limped off in Friday's 4-0 win over Konyaspor, but the substitution is said to have been precautionary.
- Stuttgart defender Maximilian Mittlestadt called Osimhen 'very dangerous' ahead of the match at RAMS Park.
Victor Osimhen is available for Galatasaray's Champions League home game against VfB Stuttgart on Tuesday, after training with the full squad on Monday.
The Super Eagles striker had raised concerns when he was taken off in the 61st minute of Friday's 4-0 league win over Konyaspor. He had scored the opening goal with a header in the 12th minute and received treatment on the pitch before Okan Buruk replaced him with Deniz Gül.
Video of Osimhen limping and hopping as he went to greet travelling fans after the final whistle spread quickly online. Reports on Monday said the discomfort was minor and that his early exit was a precaution rather than a sign of a serious problem. He trained without any reported restrictions.
Buruk is expected to name his starting line-up closer to kick-off, so Osimhen's place is not yet confirmed.
Why this game matters
Galatasaray sit 23rd in the Champions League table with three points. A top-24 finish would keep them in the knockout play-offs, so Tuesday's result at RAMS Park carries real weight for the Turkish champions.
Osimhen, 27, has been among the most productive forwards in Turkey this season. He has nine goals in the Süper Lig and 10 in 10 appearances across all competitions, according to Transfermarkt. He has also scored three times in two Champions League games against German clubs.
Stuttgart arrive unbeaten in Europe this season and have conceded only twice in the league phase. They are sixth with seven points.
Their left-back Maximilian Mittlestadt told reporters his side had prepared specifically for Galatasaray and were wary of the Nigerian.
"Osimhen is very dangerous. He has shown that he is one of the best strikers in recent years," Mittlestadt said.
He added that Stuttgart do not underestimate Galatasaray but believe they can hurt them.
What happens next
Kick-off is at RAMS Park on Tuesday. A win would lift Galatasaray's points tally and improve their chances of reaching the play-offs. For Nigerian fans, the main question is whether Osimhen starts or begins on the bench as a precaution.
