Osun APC says it has 10,000 door-to-door canvassers for Tinubu's 2027 bid
- Osun APC chairman Tajudeen Lawal said the party has mobilised about 10,000 members for door-to-door campaigning.
- He said the canvassers will cover all 30 local government areas of the state.
- The party also plans a campaign council for its National Assembly and state House of Assembly candidates.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State says it has assembled about 10,000 party members to go house to house campaigning for President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027.
The state party chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, announced the plan on Friday. He said the canvassers will be inaugurated in Osogbo and will work across all 30 local government areas of the state.
According to Lawal, the aim is to carry the Tinubu administration's policies and records to ordinary residents and build support ahead of the general election.
He said the push is being led by the party's state leadership, with backing from the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and Bola Oyebamiji, the party's 2026 governorship candidate in the state.
What it means for Osun voters
Door-to-door canvassing puts party members on the streets and in neighbourhoods, which usually means more direct contact with voters than rallies alone. For residents, it may mean party representatives knocking on doors or holding small meetings in their areas in the coming months.
Lawal argued that the President's reforms are reshaping the economy and opening the way for long-term wealth. Critics of the administration have disputed that claim, and prices and the cost of living remain a major concern for many Nigerians.
The APC chairman also said the state party has agreed to work with Governor Ademola Adeleke, who has been named coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) for Tinubu's re-election. He said the party welcomes the governor's decision and asked him to make room for APC leaders and members in the campaign structure.
Beyond the presidential race, Lawal said the party has resolved to set up a campaign council to coordinate its candidates for the National Assembly and the Osun State House of Assembly.
He added that party structures at every level will be used for mobilisation and other campaign work, and he praised Tompolo for supporting the door-to-door effort.
What happens next
The 10,000 canvassers are expected to be inaugurated in Osogbo, after which the party says it will roll out its mapped-out activities across the state. The campaign council for the legislative candidates is also to be set up.
