Nigeria's Tracy Richards closed her Miss Globe 2026 run among the final 11 contestants, at a pageant staged in Phuket, Thailand, and wrapped up on Friday, November 6, 2026.
She was one of 52 women representing different countries at the 23rd edition, held at Siam Niramit under the theme "Beauty in Unity".
Vietnam's Nguyen Thu Thao won the crown. Thailand's Suttida Iadpoo placed first runner-up and Ukraine's Mariia Zheliaskova was second runner-up, according to the pageant results reported by Punch and Vanguard.
Richards did not leave empty-handed. She won the Head-to-Head Challenge and made the top 25 of the talent competition, two results that stood out in a strong Nigerian outing.
Who is Tracy Richards?
Richards comes from Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State. She works as a high-fashion model and a kindergarten teacher, and she co-owns a modelling agency.
She calls herself a polyglot and says she has visited more than 30 countries, travel she credits with shaping both her modelling work and her pageant experience.
Outside the runway, she runs an advocacy project called Open Horizons. The initiative works with children in underserved Lagos communities, offering mentorship, education and learning outside the classroom through after-school programmes and educational trips.
Its guiding idea, as described by the project, is that new experiences can widen what children believe is possible for their future.
Team thanks Nigerians
In an Instagram post on Friday, Richards' team celebrated the top 11 finish and thanked Nigerians who backed her during the competition.
The team said she carried "the Nigerian spirit, grace and determination with pride" on the international stage, and thanked everyone who voted, supported and encouraged her.
"Tracy, you made Nigeria proud," the team added, saying her journey does not end with the pageant.
For young Nigerians hoping to compete internationally, her run shows that placement in the final stretch, plus side challenges, can keep a country visible even without the crown.
