Zlatan Ibile and Davita hold traditional wedding in Benin attire

Afrobeats star Zlatan Ibile and his partner Davita are celebrating their traditional wedding on Saturday, 24 October 2026, after sharing portraits in elaborate Benin attire on Instagram that morning.

The couple, who have two sons, Shiloh and Benaiah, had already held a private civil ceremony before this public celebration, according to Legit.ng. They announced the date earlier through an Instagram video inviting followers to save the day.

In the photos posted by Zlatan, born Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, Davita wore a deep red, intricately beaded off-shoulder gown with a multi-strand coral necklace, matching earrings and a headpiece with a veil. Zlatan wore a white traditional outfit trimmed with red bead fringe, layered coral necklaces and a white cap, and held a carved staff in some shots.

The studio portraits, taken against rich backdrops, drew praise for their cultural detail. Fans and fellow celebrities filled the comments with congratulations and admiration for the couple's look.

Why it matters to fans

Zlatan, known for the hit "Zanku," and Davita have largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight, so the public celebration marks a rare, joyful moment for their followers. The Benin-inspired outfits also drew attention to the richness of traditional dress, with many commenters calling the couple regal.

Earlier reports had described a retro-themed Yoruba photoshoot ahead of the wedding, while the wedding-day portraits featured Benin attire. Both sets of photos circulated widely online in the run-up to the celebration.

Socialite Cubana Chief Priest had earlier shared a video of Zlatan visiting Banana Island in Lagos, saying the outing was to invite Ifeanyi Odii, the 2027 APC governorship candidate for Ebonyi State, to the wedding.

What happens next

The couple's public celebration is expected to continue through the weekend, with fans watching their social media pages for more photos from the day.
