Arsenal finally won a Premier League game at Anfield, beating Liverpool 1-0 on Sunday to end a 14-year wait for a league victory there.

Kai Havertz scored the only goal, arriving at the far post to turn in a cross from Declan Rice. The close-range finish gave Mikel Arteta's side a lead they held for the rest of the match.

The result lifts Arsenal back to the top of the Premier League table. It was also their 300th away win in the competition, making them only the second club to reach that mark after Manchester United, according to Naija News.

How the game was won

Arsenal started strongly, keeping the ball and pressing Liverpool back before Havertz broke the deadlock.

Liverpool pushed for an equaliser and came close several times. Goalkeeper David Raya stopped Alexander Isak from turning in a Virgil van Dijk header, and Florian Wirtz's free-kick hit the crossbar.

Alexis Mac Allister headed over from a good position, and Isak fired over after the break following a pass from Milos Kerkez.

At the other end, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker kept his side in the game by turning a curling Christos Tzolis effort around the post.

Tensions rose late on. Mac Allister was booked after an altercation with Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, and Noni Madueke was involved in a confrontation with the Argentine midfielder but faced no further punishment.

Arsenal held on for their 17th win in their last 20 Premier League matches.

What it means

Before kick-off, Arteta had spoken about the wait. "It's 14 years that we haven't won there, so it's time to do it,
