The Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) has appointed a Lagos-based lawyer, Obinna Ejindu, as spokesperson for its National Campaign Council.

The party made the announcement on Thursday in a statement by Tosin Odeyemi, who co-chairs the campaign council and heads its media and publicity committee.

Ejindu, who is from Anambra State and is also known as Obinna Martins Ejindu, brings a mix of legal practice, student leadership and editorial work to the role, according to the statement.

The DLA said his legal career spans more than six years. He previously served as vice president of the Law Students' Association of Nigeria at national level, the party said.

He is also editor-in-chief of ANALAWGY Magazine, a publication focused on the law and the legal profession.

Why the appointment matters

The spokesperson's job puts Ejindu at the front of how the party explains its campaign to voters and the media as the political season heats up.

Odeyemi said the choice shows the party's wish for clear communication and serious engagement with the public.

The statement described Ejindu as someone committed to justice, leadership and building strong institutions, and said he has taken part in committees and platforms working on national development and public service.

Beyond his courtroom work, the party said, he cares about how the media shapes public debate, especially on legal and social questions.

"Ejindu is guided by the belief that the law, effective leadership, and informed public engagement are essential instruments for building a just, accountable, and prosperous nation," the statement said.

The DLA said his record combines legal knowledge, organising experience and editorial responsibility.

Neither the statement nor the party gave a date for when he starts or details of the campaign's schedule.

For now, the appointment is one of the early steps in how the DLA plans to present itself to Nigerians ahead of coming elections.
