The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, will chair the public presentation of six legal books written by Dr 'Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, scheduled for November 20, 2026.

The books draw on Pinheiro's nearly four decades in legal practice and cover criminal litigation, arbitration, corporate insolvency, the administration of justice and other current legal issues. The event is being organised by Pinheiro LP and is expected to bring together members of the judiciary, the Bar, academia and others in the justice sector.

What the six books cover

The collection includes Strategies in Criminal Trial: A Practitioner's Guide, which looks at the procedural and evidential rules in criminal cases, including how electronic evidence is handled and admitted in court.

Insolvency Law in Nigeria: Practice and Procedure examines the framework for corporate rescue, restructuring and insolvency under the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020. Arbitration Law and Practice in Nigeria focuses on the country's arbitration regime, particularly the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023 and how arbitral awards are recognised and enforced. It also considers the growing role of alternative dispute resolution in settling commercial disputes.

The other three titles are Defining Moments: Chronicles of a Silk (Volume One), a personal account of Pinheiro's career; The Compendium, a collection of essays by legal practitioners and academics; and MULAN Legal: Trending Issues of Law and Faith – Essays in Honour of 'Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, which looks at the meeting point of law, faith and Nigeria's plural legal system.

Why it matters

Legal texts like these are working tools for judges, lawyers and law students, and they often shape how courts and practitioners approach everyday disputes. The insolvency and arbitration titles speak to areas that affect businesses directly: how struggling companies are rescued or wound up, and how commercial disagreements are settled outside the courtroom.

The presence of the Chief Justice as chairman gives the presentation weight within the profession. Both Vanguard and Independent reported the November 20 date and the CJN's role, and neither outlet gave a venue or time for the event.
