  • Registrar Mohammed Aminu Mohammed announced the release in Benin City on Friday.
  • November/December candidates pay a ₦1,000 collection fee, excluding online charges.

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has said certificates for candidates who sat its examinations up to 2024 are now ready for collection.

The board's registrar and chief executive, Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, announced the release on Friday at NABTEB's headquarters in Benin City, Edo State, according to reports of the briefing.

The certificates cover the May/June National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) exams, as well as the November/December NBC/NTC and the Advanced National Business Certificate and Advanced National Technical Certificate exams.

For many Nigerians, these certificates are the paper proof of a technical or business qualification, and they are often asked for when applying for jobs, further study or registration with professional bodies. Being unable to collect them can hold up those plans.

Where and how to collect

Candidates who sat the May/June exams should pick up their certificates from the schools where they registered and took the exams.

Those who sat the November/December exams are to collect theirs from NABTEB offices in the states where they registered and took the exams.

Mohammed said collection is open only to bona fide candidates, meaning the board will issue certificates only to genuine candidates.

Candidates will need a valid means of identification, such as a National Identification Number (NIN) slip or card, or a driver's licence. They must also bring one passport photograph with a red background.

November/December candidates should also present their statement of result or a NABTEB online printout showing their examination details.

Those collecting November/December certificates will pay an approved collection fee of ₦1,000, which does not include statutory online charges.

The registrar urged candidates to follow the outlined steps when coming to collect their certificates.

What happens next

Candidates should confirm the NABTEB office or school handling their exam type before travelling, and come with the identification, photograph and result printout listed. Those who sat the November/December exams should budget for the ₦1,000 fee plus any online charges.
