  • Ngozi Nwosu's management says she had one surgery over three months ago and hit unexpected complications in recovery.

  • The update follows her earlier appeal for help with three surgeries estimated at ₦30 million.

Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu is still recovering after surgery and has faced unexpected complications, her management said in a new update on Thursday.

The team shared a video of the actress lying on a hospital bed and said she had one operation more than three months ago. She is not yet back to herself, they said, but wanted to thank the public in person for the prayers, messages and money that came in when she asked for help.

“Since then, she has undergone one surgery, but her recovery journey has come with some unexpected complications,” her management said in the statement.

The team said they are taking things “one day at a time” and asked Nigerians to keep praying for her full recovery.

Why Nigerians are watching

Nwosu's health became a public matter earlier this year when she disclosed she was battling an undisclosed condition that needed three surgeries, estimated at ₦30 million. She said at the time that going public was hard, but she could no longer keep quiet.

Abia State Governor Alex Otti paid ₦25 million towards the treatment, according to Naija News.

Health costs remain a heavy burden for many Nigerian families, and celebrity appeals like this one often draw attention to how quickly hospital bills can outrun savings.

What happens next

The management did not give a timeline for her full recovery or say when she might return to work. For now, the team says the focus is on her healing, and they have asked fans to keep her in their prayers.

Nwosu is one of Nollywood's well-known faces, with a career spanning decades on screen.
