Philemon scores twice as Doma United and Ikorodu City draw 2-2
- Bitrus Philemon scored a penalty and a stoppage-time equaliser for Doma United.
- Tomiwa Awojobi levelled for the hosts and Ujunwa Elijah put Ikorodu City ahead late.
- Doma stay 10th with 15 points; Ikorodu City are 11th with 14 after 11 games.
Doma United and Ikorodu City shared the points in a 2-2 draw in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 11 game at the Pantami Stadium on Saturday.
Bitrus Philemon put Doma ahead from the penalty spot in the 19th minute. Tomiwa Awojobi equalised five minutes later.
Ikorodu City went in front for the first time in the 85th minute through Ujunwa Elijah, and it looked like the visitors would leave with the win.
But Philemon struck again deep into stoppage time to rescue a point for Doma.
What the point means for both sides
The result keeps Doma United 10th on the table with 15 points from 11 matches. Ikorodu City sit 11th with 14 points from the same number of games.
For a league where away wins are hard to come by, Ikorodu City will feel they let two points slip after leading so late. Doma, meanwhile, will take heart from fighting back twice in front of their home fans.
The two clubs are separated by a single point in mid-table, so every result in the coming weeks will matter as the NPFL season settles into its rhythm.
