Seyi Vibez and Blaqbonez trade words online over 'agbero' comment

The gist
  • Seyi Vibez replied to Blaqbonez on X after the rapper said he was not Seyi Vibez.
  • Seyi Vibez said Odumodublvck ranks above Blaqbonez and warned of a beating.
  • Both singers traded the remarks in public posts over the weekend.

Two Nigerian artistes, singer Seyi Vibez and rapper Blaqbonez, spent the weekend trading words on X, the platform formerly called Twitter, in a spat that pulled a third name into the argument.

The exchange began when Blaqbonez posted a line distancing himself from Seyi Vibez. According to Daily Post and PM News, he wrote: “Lagos agbero people, please, I am not Seyi Vibez, dammit.”

Seyi Vibez, whose real name is Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi, answered with a series of posts. He said Blaqbonez was only using his name to draw attention and that he would not hand him free publicity.

He then brought in rapper Odumodublvck, saying Blaqbonez still answers to him in the industry. “Blaqbones, your daddy na still Odumodu, if you like go up and down,” he wrote, according to both outlets.

Seyi Vibez also warned that any move by Blaqbonez to line up beside him would end in a beating, adding that he should take his “rubbish clout” elsewhere.

Why it matters to fans

Nigerian music fans follow artiste beefs closely, and a public quarrel between two popular names can quickly spread across social media, fan pages and playlists.

Both reports describe the posts as they appeared online. Neither outlet said the two men had met or spoken privately, and there was no report of any physical confrontation.

Odumodublvck has not been quoted in either report, and it is not clear whether he has responded to being named in the exchange.

For now, the argument appears to be confined to posts on X. Fans waiting to see whether it turns into new music, a collaboration or a truce will have to keep watching the timelines.
