The family of gospel minister Olayemi Bayonle Bolaji, widely known as Toluwanisings, has announced a night of tributes and service of songs in his honour. The event will hold on Tuesday, 27 October 2026 at the Hall of Grace, Jogor Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State, starting at 3pm.

The announcement was shared on the singer's verified Instagram page on Wednesday. Attendees are asked to dress in white.

The organisers described the evening as a time of love, reflection, tributes, cherished memories and thanksgiving to God. In the post, they said some lives leave footprints that time cannot erase, and that although his voice has fallen silent, his songs and impact will continue to echo.

They invited family, friends, colleagues and members of the Christian community to come together to celebrate a life that mattered.

Appeal for the widow and children

Alongside the tribute plans, the family issued a separate appeal titled "A Call for Love and Support." They asked Nigerians to help the singer's wife and two daughters as they adjust to life without him.

The family said every contribution, no matter how small, is a gesture of love and compassion, and provided account details for donations. They prayed for blessings on everyone who gives and for strength and comfort for the family.

Fans have echoed the call online, urging people to support the widow and children and to keep comments kind during a difficult period.

How he died, and the tributes so far

Toluwanisings died on 14 October 2026, hours after ministering at a praise concert organised by fellow gospel singer Bidemi Olaoba in Ibadan. According to reports, he collapsed suddenly.

His death sparked widespread reaction online. Questions were raised about access to emergency care after his personal assistant alleged that several hospitals refused to admit him. That claim has not been independently confirmed.

On Tuesday, 20 October, exactly a week after his death, friends and fans held a candlelight procession in his honour. Photos shared by BBC Yoruba showed mourners in black holding candles around a portrait of the singer.

On 17 October, Olaoba paid tribute at the Night of Elevation worship event by performing one of Toluwanisings' signature songs, "Kabiysei Olorun Ayo."

The family has not yet announced burial arrangements.

What happens next

The night of tributes and service of songs on 27 October will be the main public gathering so far. The family has asked well-wishers who want to support the programme to reach them through direct messages on the singer's social media page.
