Burna Boy headlines NFL Paris halftime show as Steelers face Saints
- Burna Boy performed at halftime of the NFL's first regular-season game in France on October 25.
- He shared the Stade de France stage with French singer Yseult, playing hits like 'Ye' and 'Last Last'.
- It adds to a run of major sporting shows for the Nigerian star, after the 2026 World Cup halftime show.
Burna Boy took the halftime stage at Stade de France on Sunday, October 25, as the NFL played its first regular-season game in France, with the Pittsburgh Steelers facing the New Orleans Saints.
The Grammy-winning Nigerian artist ran through some of his biggest songs, including 'Ye', 'On The Low' and 'Last Last', according to footage from the event. French singer Yseult joined him on stage.
For Nigerian fans, the set is another sign that Afrobeats travels well beyond Lagos and Port Harcourt. A Nigerian artist was the entertainment at a landmark American football game in Europe, in front of a French crowd.
A familiar big-stage run
Burna Boy, born Damini Ogulu, has become a regular at global sporting events. He performed at the NBA All-Star Game and the UEFA Champions League final kickoff show in 2023.
Earlier in 2026, he shared a stage with Colombian star Shakira at the first FIFA World Cup halftime show. His halftime slot in Paris comes weeks after fellow Nigerian Ayra Starr headlined an NFL halftime show, reported as the first act to do so.
His catalogue spans eight studio albums, from 'L.I.F.E' in 2013 to 'No Sign of Weakness' in 2025. He holds the record for the most Grammy nominations by a Nigerian artist, with 13, and won Best Global Music Album in 2021 for 'Twice As Tall'.
The NFL has been pushing to grow its audience outside the United States, and staging a regular-season game in Paris is part of that effort. Having a Nigerian headliner on the bill puts Afrobeats in front of viewers who may never have listened to it before.
There was no immediate word from the NFL or Burna Boy's team on viewing figures for the halftime show.
